Nintendo Direct Announced For This Week

After much speculation in the gaming community over the past few weeks, Nintendo has finally revealed what we’ve all been waiting for: a February Nintendo Direct. The celebrated Japanese developer took to social media today to reveal that they are in fact hosting a Nintendo Direct this month, and we won’t have to wait long to see it.

February’s Nintendo Direct will go live tomorrow, February 8th, at 2 PM PST and 5 PM EST. Nintendo has confirmed that the presentation will clock in at about 40 minutes and focus on games coming to the Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2023. The last gaming-focused Direct we got was back in September of 2022, which included the reveal of Octopath Traveler 2, Fire Emblem Engage, and the official title and release date for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tomorrow’s direct will likely include new information on Octopath Traveler 2 which comes out later this month, as well as DLC news for games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Fire Emblem Engage, Splatoon 3, and Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. Nintendo’s marquis release for 2023, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, will also likely be present, as it’s currently slated for a May 2023 release. And while this Direct will primarily focus on games in the first half of the year, it’s possible that Nintendo will tease some of their plans for later in the year.

We won’t have to wait much longer to learn about Nintendo’s plans for the next few months, as the first Nintendo Direct of 2023 after it airs on February 8th, 2023 at 2 PM PST and 5 PM EST on Nintendo’s YouTube channel.
