Nintendo clarified some of the details surrounding its newly announced classic game service last night, mainly that it will be separate from the virtual console. While the service will provide free games with added functionality to subscribers to Nintendo's expansive list of games, it will be a standalone feature separate from the virtual console. Personally, I have no doubt that it's coming, but I have to wonder how much further out beyond release we can expect to see it. Hopefully, we get some form of meaningful update before the end of this year.
