Ocarina of Time: How To Improve Darunia's Mood

When you meet Darunia in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, he’ll refuse to help you because he’s in a bad mood. The game won’t tell you exactly how to make him happy unless you know who to talk to and where to look, so here’s how you can improve Darunia’s mood in the Ocarina of Time Remake.

How to improve Darunia’s mood in Ocarina of Time

You can help improve Darunia’s mood in Ocarina of Time by playing Saria’s song. To learn this song, talk to the Goron outside of Darunia’s room, and he’ll tell you to follow the song playing in the tunnel above. Before you go to that tunnel, you’ll need to light up some braziers in order to eventually light up Bomb Flowers.

Head back inside Darunia’s room and light a Deku Stick on fire using the already-lit brazier. Light all the braziers outside, then go up the path where there’s a Goron beside a bed. There’s a brazier there, so light it and head up to the next level.

From here, you can light up the Bomb Flowers on the wall by the blocked tunnel. The rocks will explode, and you should hear the song louder through this tunnel. You’ll now be in the Sacred Grove, so traverse the path littered with Deku Shrubs until you reach a set of stairs and find Saria.

Saria will teach you Saria’s Song, and from there you can return to Darunia. Play Saria’s Song for him, and he’ll lighten up immediately.

If you haven’t done this already, make sure you’ve found the 7 missing Cuccos in Kakariko Village in Ocarina of Time, too.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2.
