One of the newest departments over at Bandai Namco has released their very first project. Entertainment Europe Innovation Department has developed Pac-Man Stories, a new family friendly feature for all of your Alexa-enabled devices, including Amazon Echo and Echo Dot. Pac-Man Stories is free to enable and features several fully interactive stories that can be enjoyed by all ages and allows them to engage with Pac-Man, making moral decisions that affect the ending.
“Voice-controlled services are an exciting technology with this great vision of being in everyone’s home and used by any family member. It just seemed natural to us to use our iconic character PAC-MAN™ to create fun interactive stories for all ages together with our company vision to provide dreams, fun, and inspiration to people around the world” said Naoki Katashima, President and COO, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe.
While there are still more stories planned to come, there is currently just the first story. Launching for Amazon Alexa is Pac-Man and the Ghastly Garbage, which delivers a fun engaging adventure that enables users to help save Pac-Man's planet from garbage and a threat that affects everyone you meet. Along the way, you will make decisions, choose paths, and win Power Pellets based on the decisions you make.
Pac-Man won't be the only iconic character featured in these stories. There will be a wide range of new characters for you to get to know and love, as well as some well-known favorites, including Inky, Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde.
With Pac-Man Stories being a free to enable skill for Amazon Alexa and can be started as easily as saying, "Alexa, open Pac-Man Stories," I don't see any reason not to use this for a good nights story time before bed. What do you think about this feature? Will you be using it in your household?
