November 15, 2013 was a day many looked forward to in eager anticipation. This was the day the next generation of gaming would begin. What new worlds, innovations and experiences await? These were just a couple things I remember being asked as I worked the midnight launch at GameStop. Our store, being one of the busiest in the district, had received nearly 150 consoles for the launch and the place was packed both front and back! Midnight came, consoles sold and within a day the PS4 had sold 1 million units.
5 years on, the PS4 has been the dominant console of the generation. We have even seen the release of a mid-gen upgrade in the PS4 Pro. To celebrate this anniversary Sony has released numerous stats for the console including System and game sales, most popular titles and the rarest model of PS4. To further celebrate, Sony has announced a new Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PS4 Slim bundle available for $299 beginning November 27. The PS4 has been a tremendous success for Sony and has brought millions of people gaming joy. Check out all the 5th anniversary stats released below!
