Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released last month to widespread acclaim and incredible sales, dethroning Call of Duty: Vanguard as the top-selling video game of the month. At today’s Pokémon Presents showcase, the Pokémon company announced a new update for Arceus titled “Daybreak.”
The Daybreak update includes a new investigation that will task players with getting to the bottom of a series of strange, Pokémon outbreaks. The brief video tease showed outbreaks of some of the game’s rarest Pokémon, as well as outbreaks full of Alpha Pokémon. The mystery of what’s behind these unusual outbreaks is one only the savior of Hisui can solve!
In addition to this new investigation, players can also challenge some of their favorite NPC characters to training battles back in Jubilife Village. A slate of new battles is being added, including battles with unique rules for more creative challenges.
To celebrate Pokémon Day, players can also redeem a special gift package that comes with 30 Ultra Balls, 30 Gigaton Balls, and 30 Jet Balls. To redeem this gift, players must use the code ARCEUSADVENTURE in the game’s Mystery Gift menu.
Finally, the video gave a brief glimpse at the player character facing off against both Dialga and Palkia in their advanced forms. This is the Eternal Battle Reverie, a post-game area where Arceus itself will challenge players to face off against a series of increasingly difficult opponents.
The Daybreak update for Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. For more on Pokémon, check out our review of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, as well as the news that two new Pokémon versions will be coming out later this year!
