Well, another convention bites the dust as the Covid-19 Pandemic marches on. This time the cancellation comes from the Portland Retro Gaming Expo slated to occur this August. Even though it is likely that things will be more “normal” by August, the team behind the event felt it better to get ahead of the situation and be prepared if things aren’t better. The way things are in the world today, I totally get the cautious decision and look forward to what they have in store for 2021.
One of the other side effects of the cancellation of PRGE is that the yearly Classic Tetris World Championships hosted each year at the event has also been put into limbo. The organizers of the tournament are still searching for ways to crown a champion though so don’t worry! Congrats to them for also making it onto ESPN by the way!
What do you all think about the cancellation of PRGE?
