Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story

Who doesn’t love a little snu snu?! This girl. Oh wait, Nunu! Yeah, back to this non-adult game and its obvious tie-in to League of Legends. Developed by the super cool dudes at Tequila Works (Ya know, Rime?) this is an incredibly well crafted and emotional adventure that will appeal to lovers of quality storytelling, occasional shedding of tears etc.
If this is the type of stuff Riot has planned for the future, sign me up! I loved Snu… Nunu and can’t wait to see what else Riot brings to us. LoL based action RPGs, please?!
Beyond Sunset

O. M. G. - Retro heaven! Wanna slice dudes up with a pixelated katana? You can. How about shoot them in the face with an uzi? Ok. Coo. Wanna explore a Blade Runner-esque world while stomping on ugly pixelated bad guys? Done.
There are a ton of retro/pixelated games out there but this one has the brightest future of any I’ve tried this year. Beyond Sunset. It’s $10 on Steam. Skip that cheeseburger tonight and get this gem instead. You’re welcome, you peasants.
Howl
Available: Now
Howl is a “turn-based tactical folktale set in medieval times” - WTF is that!? Well, that’s Howl and you’ll love it! It’s one of the more low key releases this insane Holiday season and not usually my cup of tea but it’s charming AF, has over 60 levels, features some great voice actors with sexy unknown origin accents, beautiful folksy music, and blood sprays all over when you get attacked by the wuffs.
Yeah, it’s wuffs, not wolves. Get educated.
Risk of Rain Returns

I missed the first Risk of Rain so this was a perfect opportunity for this slack to get onboard with the killer action I’ve missing all this year. Besides the fact you need a quality set of eyes to see these microscopic characters and enemies, this game is lit! Every playthrough I found so many different items and secrets just on the first level.
Hope you got skillz and patience tho as this isn’t the easiest game to git gud at. Also, size doesn’t matter in this game. Some of the biggest enemies are pushovers and the small ones will wreck your sh*%. It’s oh so worth it when you do beat them. Yummy.
Achilles: Legends Untold

Stop playing your God of War. Stop playing your Dark Souls. Stop playing your Titan Quest. It’s time to play Achilles: Legends Untold! Just kidding, it’s not. So many good ideas tossed into the rubbish with some of the worse voice acting this side of the original Resident Evil games, some cool combat moves, and a whole range of good and horrible. No really, I wanted to love this game so hard as I think the whole time period is so underused in games but while some components of this game shine, so many are just painful.
Unless you really are dying to play an Achilles game, there are just too many other good games out now to recommend this right now.
