Quick Review Roundup: THIRSTY SUITORS, TALOS II, SALT, WONDERS 4 AND More

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: We here at GameTyrant have been absolutely bombarded with so many games this year. We will be rolling out select quick reviews to let our audience know about games and DLC that may have slipped under their radar. We appreciate the amazing support from all publishers and developers out there!

Thirsty Suitors

“WTF? WTF IS THIS?!! THIS IS AWESOME!” That is what I had to ask myself over and over and over again as I skateboarded through tutorials, performed slam dusk basketball attacks on my ‘enemies’ and my enemies I mean old boyfriends, girlfriends, and other flames. THIRSTY SUITORS is so far outside the norm or any big AAA releases, it’s just unbelievable.

Look, I don’t wanna spoil anything as most of this game is discovering the insane little bits sprinkled onto this crazy cookie by the devs. It’s a dating sim. It’s a therapy session. It’s a turn-based RPG. It’s just hard to put in a genre. It is easy though to give it a good score and a solid recommendation, especially for those who like their games crazy AF. Don’t blame me if people start questioning your motives if they watch you play it.

THE TALOS PRINCIPLE II
Available:
Now

Puzzles, puzzles, and more puzzles with some Egyptian flair mingled with crazy Godlike figures that make me feel small. Well, the Gods make me feel small but some of the puzzles make me feel like a downright village idiot. Can I just have a gun?! I’ll shoot through this *%^@!

Really though, TALOS PRINCIPLE II is a wet dream for puzzle fanatics. It has fancy Unreal 5 graphics. The voice acting is Godly. Ahem The puzzles are tough but they make you feel like a King (or Queen) when you finally solve them, even if you may want to throw your keyboard through the nearest window. Puzzle goodies FTW.

SALT AND SACRIFICE
Available:
Now

Ugh. Soulslike games. Who even likes this drivel?! Apparently millions of people. Aaaaaaaaand I’m beginning to tolerate and even enjoy them. Games like SALT AND SACRIFICE don’t like that pretty from plain screenshots but like most Soulslike games I am discovering, they hide so much beauty and mystery when you delve withing. Sniffle. It’s making me cry how beautiful it is! Chock full of secrets, skills, cool drops, etc. It’s good.

No seriously. Don’t like Soulslike games? Try this. It’s really good. Animations, sound, music it’s all so purty. It’s not easy so, git gud.

AGE OF WONDERS 4: EMPIRES & ASHES
Available:
Now

Ahhhh Age of Wonders. The game with so many beautiful women and elves gracing it’s covers for decades now, propelling sales to young men everywhere. Oh yeah, and they are really great games as well. This DLC is just as awesome as the base game.

New cultures, new bird dudes, new stuff. Look, if you are a fan, just buy the DLC. It’s worth your monaaaay. Trust me. Why wouldn’t you trust me!??!

SANDS OF AURA
Available:
Now

Another Soulslike?! Yep. #DEALWITHIT

This is one is a little hidden gem. Yes, it’s got some jank but it’s got so much heart. It’s more forgiving than most of the Soulsy Souls we see these days and it’s isometric so, yeah, it’s different. It’s unique. It’s surprisingly full of a quality story and even more quality-er voice acting. It keeps getting patched too so that’s a bonus. Wanna sail across an ocean of sand? Now you can with SANDS OF AURA.

Crime Boss: Rockay City - Dragon's Gold Cup DLC
Available:
Now

We started out with a big WTF in a good way, now we’ll wrap with a bigger WTF in a different way. So much wasted talent. See that woman up above lickin’ that lollipop? She’s modeled after and voice by the great Kim Basinger. There’s also Vanilla Ice. Danny Trejo. A ton more. The graphics are sublime. The stars shine.

The game? It’s rough. The script and writing? It’s dreadfully bad. The DLC is no different. If you like janky, FPS cheese with ear-grating dialogue, this game is for you. WTF?!
