Mega Man: The Wily Wars was released many years ago for the Sega Mega Drive. The game was available on the Sega Genesis as well; to a degree. See, you needed the Sega Channel to play the game. The game was never officially released in the United States, in cartridge form, until now.
Retro-bit has been re-releasing a lot of games lately. I love their releases of Metal Storm, and the Toaplan Collection for the Sega “MegaSis.” They released an R-Type SNES cartridge as well, which featured Super R-Type as well as (in my opinion) the far superior R-Type III. Now they have their sights set on Mega Man: The Wily Wars. In all honesty, I never really cared too much for this game. I have played it multiple times on the Sega Genesis Mini but I have always preferred the NES versions of these games. See Mega Man: The Wily Wars is not a new game. It is a collection of graphically enhanced versions of Mega Man 1-3. The sound is “different,” but still good. Out of the three games, Mega Man II is still my favorite.
This Retro-bit release is limited, so get it while you can! You will get the translucent blue cartridge, a reversible cartridge sleeve, certificate of authenticity, manual, interchangeable lenticular cards, double-sided posted, collection cards, and sticker collection.
If you want to preorder this game in North America, you can do so at Castlemania Games and Limited Run Games. The question is; will you get this cartridge while you can?
