Turtle Beach Kone II

Sitting down and operating Turtle Beach’s new Kone II gaming mouse is a smooth experience. From the way its skates glide across a desk’s surface or the buttery smooth yet feedback-ensuring clicks of its buttons, you can tell that your gaming sessions are going to be precision-filled. But what more can be said? It’s another gaming mouse. These days, there’s only so much that can be said about a gaming mouse.

So getting to the point; I think the Kone II is a premium gaming mouse that’s very much worth the price. The big caveat for me is that this mouse is a bit on the bigger side. I’m of medium-sized hands and have issues using this mouse entirely comfortably. But if you have larger hands, you won’t have to worry. Aside from that, it’s also limited to righties, so lefties, you’ll need to find another device instead.

Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3

Moving on to the brand new Stealth 700 Gen 3 headset; something that I’ve been extremely excited for. A couple of years back, I had the chance to review the Gen 2 Stealth 700 and now, I’m here to tell you that this new gen is even better. While I loved the Gen 2, this new headset looks incredibly premium with lots of silver going with its main colorway of black or white. There’s also a blue one with a bronze accent too!

Personally, one of my favorite things about this headset though is the fact that not only can I use both a wireless and Bluetooth connection simultaneously, but I can also use a second wireless connection. Being able to multitask between an Xbox or PlayStation, alongside a PC is pretty amazing. And it’s the connectivity with this crossplay feature that makes this headset stand out among the rest.

This headset is just jam-packed with features that you’d want out of your premium headset in 2024. Its audio is as amazing as ever, giving crisp and clear audio in all scenarios. The all-new A.I. notice reduction is a game-changer too as a parent of small kids. I don’t have to worry as much about other players hearing background noise when my headset can clear it up more than usual.

If I had to complain about anything, it would be the fact that this headset is just a little bit on the heavy side. It’s a very comfortable-feeling headset overall, though turning your head, you’ll feel a little weight working against you. Though this is a far cry from the heaviest headset I’ve ever used.

Victrix Pro BFG (Tekken 8 + Hall Effect Module)

There have been a lot of controllers I’ve tested over the years here, but none are quite as intriguing as PDP’s Victrix Pro BFG wireless controller. Though it hosts many creature comforts that other pro controllers have, such as buttons on its backside, extra clicky buttons across the board, and a plethora of grip on the front and back, it’s the swappable face buttons that make this controller stand alone.

Firstly, I just want to say that I really like this controller. The Victrix Pro BFG is a highly customizable controller, solely because of its swappable face buttons, otherwise known as modules. These modules slide off of the controller, allowing you to purchase and swap or replace them entirely. This can allow you to turn your regular old standard-faced controller into an arcade fighting combat center.

Not only that, but players can adjust the thumbsticks and d-pad with various types, many of which come with the controller you purchase. But what I love is the modules you can purchase. For instance, while I got the Tekken 8 PlayStation Victrix, PDP also sent me the new Xbox Hall Effect Modules, allowing me to turn this into a sort of Frankenstein’s Monster of both PlayStation and Xbox-branded parts. Amazing stuff.

Although I had a fun time with the Victrix and its many hat tricks, I had an issue with the controller’s feel. Honestly, the trigger locks on the back of the controller weren’t very responsive to my trying to lock the controller and led to them slipping out of place. Additionally, the right thumbstick on the module included with the controller had a messed-up dead zone. Luckily, the Hall Effect Module they sent fixed this. So, unfortunately, this just isn’t a perfect setup, though full of potential and incredibly enjoyable to play with overall.
