Review: The Sound BlasterX H6 Gaming Headset Defines Stellar Value

Stellar Value in a Crowded Market

Sometimes it feels absolutely exhausting considering the overwhelming variety and choices when it comes to gaming headphones and headsets. Not that I am complaining but as I have tried out literally hundreds of sets over the years, usually there are major pros and cons with almost every set o’ cans out there. I’m proud to say, the Sound BlasterX H6’s are some of the best if not thee best value in gaming headsets today. So, let’s dive in and take a deeper look..

Slick. Smooth. Dreamy. All my nicknames from the opposite sex.. and adjectives for the Sound BlasterX H6.

Packaging and Design

Every Sound BlasterX product I’ve tested from the minds at Creative have been nothing short of slick and polished when it comes to the packaging and design. Black and reds of course are the main points of the product and package, you can customize and tweak to hearts content with the Aurora Reactive RGB Lighting Ring. Bam!

The design of the H6 seems a step up from previous years sets and not that they were bad but the H6’s just look and ooze quality with the components and smooth edges. After slipping these bad boys on for several rounds of Battlefield V, I was immediately impressed with the comfort of the set; it felt like pillows on my ears! Rarely does any headset feel this comfy and especially for long periods of time. Overall, this is a simple yet slick design with zero concerns from me.

Battlefield V is an absolute chaotic nightmare with the Sound BlasterX H6’s.. and that’s the best compliment we can give.

Performance and Value

Look, there are a lot of great headsets out there as I mentioned before and rarely do I run into a set that I think, “Wow, these sound horrid.” but it is rare when I am blown away by the sound of a headsets, especially those under $100. Playing Battlefield V with the sound cranked on the H6’s is the only way to play this game. Planes zip by overhead, bullets whiz past your ear, tanks grumble and grown past you but most of all, sniper shots crack clearly and are reproduced near perfectly. I had a huge nerdy smile across my face whilst testing these cans out.

Music was also hard hitting and immersive as I tested various sound tracks and everything from classical to dubstep to metal. While the highs are the clearest I’ve heard, the mids and lows were fantastic and especially from a set in this price range.

Overall, I came away not only impressed from the H6’s but I did it all it comfort. The Sound BlasterX H6’s are far and above the most comfortable, best sounding and feature-rich headsets I’ve used this year. At $79.99, they represent a stellar value in a very crowded market. They are available now and work with PC and all consoles.
