With the Nintendo Direct Showcase bringing news about a number of different releases, a new trailer has been released for PLAYISM’s Nintendo Switch port of Kouri’s RPG Maker horror gem Ib, scheduled to be released on the console in Spring 2023.
Ib follows the titular character, a young girl visiting an art gallery with her parents. She wanders along through the exhibits of the enigmatic artist, Guertena, until she discovers a particularly strange painting. On interaction with it, Ib is thrown into a nightmarish alternate gallery, where the art is not only real, it’s extremely dangerous.
Finding a way to escape will involve exploring the areas, solving puzzles, and figuring out who to trust when nothing is exactly as it seems.
The new edition will bring the classic title to a new audience and can offer something extra for seasoned fans, with new puzzles, updated artwork, and a conversation system with party-mates. It also comes with some quality-of-life and difficulty adjustments, for people who might struggle with the format otherwise.
Ib is scheduled for release next Spring and will be available from the Nintendo eShop.
