A year after its initial launch and just over 7 months since we got Season 2 and the team over at Norsfell is ready to improve their game once again! Tribes of Midgard is heading into Season 3: Inferno Saga this August, which will bring a new boss, biome, and camps. Not only that, but their publisher Gearbox Publishing intends to have the game debut on both Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms as well.
Altogether, Season 3’s new content includes a new Saga Quest, Saga Boss, Volcanic Spire Biome, Spear weapon, Fishing, and more. They are also introducing ‘Survival 2.0’ which also includes ‘Crafting 2.0’ so that players can have a more relaxed but engaging experience in this game mode. This new mode takes place long before the Village around the Seed of Yggdrasil came to be, the Einherjar (player) must rough it in a totally raw environment. The powerful Viking warrior Eira Foot-Crushed serves as your guide, alongside everyone’s favorite felines Mániklo and Sóleyra from the Saga tutorial. Free from the constant threat of incoming Jötnar attacks, in the new Survival Mode, Einherjar can write legendary Viking tales of their own, building their perfect Viking homes, and taking the battle directly to enemies as they see fit. Without there being a village called for the need to upgrade the crafting style and options, so be sure to utilize the magical Dwarven invention of the Allforge.
As for the Saga mode details, you have the new Spear weapon to fight from a bit of a distance with and can now go Fishing to collect food for yourself. There is the new Volcanic Spire which is a molten landmass that serves as the fiery battleground between the Einherjar and the Inferno invasion. Equip the right gear to handle this new climate or be burned, as it is home to many unique and dangerous creatures, crafting materials, hazards, and more. Even the rivers are made of lava, so you probably shouldn’t go for a swim.
Of course, the journey to the heart of the Volcanic Spire is a perilous one. Raid invading Outposts across Midgard to acquire Muspelite and use them to activate a Gateway to the new Biome. Be prepared to fight through hordes of fiery foes as you ascend to face the largest-ever Saga Boss. From his Lair at the peak of the Volcanic Spire, this fearsome opponent launches a full-scale invasion of Midgard! It is up to the Einherjar to stomp out the flames of his conquest and put a stop to Ragnarök.
Tribes of Midgard Season 3 will release on August 16th. When the new season arrives, the game will officially be available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Are you ready for your Viking adventures to heat up?
