Yet another cult-classic gaming title is being remastered for new audiences and the fans who loved its original. This time, it’s Shadow Man! Shadow Man Remastered takes the 1999 title and updates its visuals. Things like 4K resolution, anti-aliasing, dynamic shadow mapping, and HDR rendering take advantage of the better gaming platforms and TVs/Monitors. It also includes never-before-seen content that was cut from the original game.
Returning to Deadside is a highlight for fans of the game and I myself am glad to have it come back around. I was 3 years old when the original version came out so needless to say, I never played it. For those unaware of the plot themes; Shadow Man revolves around its protagonist Michael LeRoi, who’s the current “Shadow Man”, a voodoo warrior. A Shadow Man battles dark forces that attempt to cross-over into the world of the living. You’ll find yourself in locations across Louisiana, New York City, and the dark land of Deadside as Michael fights to keep the supernatural from taking over.
Shadow Man: Remastered releases on April 15, 2021, for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Game Store, with console releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch coming at a later date.
