Everyone likes to watch a bad B-movie with friends and make fun of it endlessly. But what if that joke among friends became an actual game? What the Dub?! is a new multiplayer party game that more or less takes the idea of making fun of awful movies and turns it into a full-fledged game with the goal being to dub in missing audio from videos in the funniest manner possible. There are over 300 different videos from things like B-movies, old PSAs, and weird industrial films that players will watch and then write their own hilarious dubs for through a text-to-speech system.
Gamers will compete head-to-head with 3 to 12 players locally or streaming/screen sharing with players online. It’s a pretty unique concept that in times like these, is sure to bring long-distance relatives and friends together for those Friday nights we used to have together. To write in the dubs for the game all you’ll need is for the host to have a gaming platform and each player to have access to a phone, tablet, or computer in order to enter the text. I’m a sucker for a good party game and this one actually does some pretty cool things that are sure to shake up the genre a bit.
What the Dub?! releases on April 8th on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
