Shigeru Miyamoto is interested in creating anime for Nintendo franchises. The game developer shared his vision for the animated future of gaming in a recent shareholders meeting. Check out what he said and continue on below:
A7: Miyamoto: We want to make anime for Pikmin, Star Fox, Yoshi, etc. and distribute it freely, or integrate into games. https://t.co/yM8GRH3ftm

Hard to say if that etc covers Mario and Zelda, as Mario is already rumored to be in Wreck-It Ralph 2, and Zelda has it's own manga series. Still, the titles mentioned (especially Pikmin) I could see benefitting a lot from an anime whether in-game or otherwise. Personally, I like the idea of in-game anime for Pikmin as the story has no dialogue so it would add to the aesthetic to have pretty animated cut-scenes with the Pikmin running about.
Usually, when Miyamoto wants to do something, it gets done. We'll keep an eye on this and let you know if we see anything interesting come out of it. What Nintendo anime would you be down to watch?
