Upon completing the prologue of Octopath Traveler 0, you’re asked a daunting question that sounds like it could affect the rest of your journey: Are you after Wealth, Fame, or Power? For how long of a game this is, these choices feel incredibly important.
This question correlates with the three main antagonists of the game, who all represent one of those three strengths. If you’re worried about making the wrong decision, look no further, because we’ll help you figure out whether you should choose Wealth, Fame, or Power in Octopath Traveler 0.
Choose Wealth, Fame, or Power in Octopath Traveler 0?
When given the choice between Wealth, Fame, or Power in Octopath Traveler 0, you can choose any option, since it does not affect the ability to choose between the three main quests. Regardless of which option you choose, you can still complete all three quests at the same time.
That said, the only thing that changes upon choosing a route is which Path Action is improved. Here’s the breakdown of how this works:
Wealth: +1 Wealth improves your success rate when haggling and lowers prices
Fame: +1 Fame improves the success rate when entreating NPCs to take their possessions
Power: +1 Power aids you when battling NPCs for obtaining their possessions
At the start of the game, those three questlines require you to be at the same level, which is level 6. Once you pursue one quest, the level requirement will rise, giving you the option of going after another quest to grind some levels and make sure you’re ready for the tasks ahead.
There are zero consequences to choosing one option over another, so go with whatever you feel is right. I personally went for Power first, but I was hopping between the Power questline and Rekindling the Flame, which is the questline that allows you to build up your town. I recommend you do this main quest while you’re going after the three main antagonists, so you can build more houses and invite more people to your town.
Now that you’ve decided between Wealth, Fame, and Power, you will also have to choose the best starting job in Octopath Traveler 0.
