The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) has happened every year since 2021, and since it’s such a new pro-gaming scene they’re still working out some kinks and trying to make it the best version of itself. This year they made even more schedule changes, added new teams, and even whole new levels to the VCT. This year the three Ascension teams being added are Gentle Mates, Bleed eSports, and G2. Along with the 10 new partner teams and one more ascension team from the new VCT CN bringing it to 44 teams in total competing to become the 2024 Valorant World Champions.
One of the biggest changes this year is the addition of Championship Points. These points are going to play a huge factor in the end to decide who moves onto the final rounds of the VCT. These Championship Points are designed to reward those who play well and consistent. Teams will win one point for every match they win in the International League, while each league winner takes an additional three Championship Points. Same goes for the winners of the Kickoff tournaments and Masters events. Leading up to Champions, the highest point earnes in each league will have a golden ticket to earning their spot.
The schedule this year will really start in February. The VCT Kickoff will be taking place between February 16th to the 2nd of March. From here the top two teams from each kick off tournament will move onto Masters Madrid in mid-March. Then in April we can look forward to Stage One of the International Leagues where the top three teams from each league will move onto Masters Shanghai. After Masters Shanghai it will move onto International League Stage 2, where the top three teams in each league plus a fourth team based on Championship Points will move onto Valorant Champions 2024.
I really like the VCT and I’m ready for it to start up, so I’m happy about the extra levels making it last longer. Who will you be rooting for?
