Update 01/11/2020: Both the PS4 and Switch versions of Episode 1 Racer has been delayed to an unknown date. Aspyr has made an official statement blaming work from home orders as the cause of the delay. We will let you know when a new date has been revealed for the title.
The current-gen port of Star Wars Episode 1 Racer has gotten a release date for May 12, 2020. The price for this new port has been set at $14.99 for all who wish to adopt it. When the game was first announced during last month’s Nintendo Direct Mini I was initially ecstatic until I realized the absolute laziness of this port. In a world where the awesome conversion of DOOM 64 exists which took the time to mimic aspects of the N64’s hardware renderer. A lazy port like this can’t really get me excited. Not to mention this game will cost 3 times more than DOOM 64’s vastly superior port. Oh well, maybe that fan-made unreal version will be finished someday and we can get the remastered version of the game it deserves.
