Prime Matter and Nightdive Studios are launching their highly anticipated remake of the oldie-but-goodie, System Shock, next month. In preparation, it seems like the studio has released an updated demo, showing fans a new introduction to the game and giving them a better idea of what to expect the final build to look like. There is a lot to see and a lot to do in this updated demo, and things are looking very good.
The System Shock remake was crowdfunded via Kickstarter quite a few years back. Thankfully, it seems like all of those years of baking in the oven have paid off. The demo does a great job of nailing the modernized retro look that the developers were aiming for. Trying to make System Shock feel like a classic title with modern mechanics is a hard feat, but it seems like Nightdive has cracked the code.
The demo can last upwards of 30 minutes or longer, depending on your playstyle. We highly suggest to try it for yourself, especially if you are a fan of its slightly more mainstream cousin, BioShock. This narrative-driven space survival sim was a classic when it launched and it seems like it's about to capture some new fans next month.
System Shock is planned to launch in March on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and EGS.
