Bandai Namco’s upcoming Tales of ARISE will arrive September 10, 2021, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The upcoming game is the latest entry in the JRPG franchise, spanning over 25 years.
While the new entry into the Tales series will revisit certain gameplay elements of past games, the team is also introducing advanced graphics and an evolved combat system to help push the series into the future!
Combat will now allow for a better sense of spectacle and direct player feedback based upon their actions. Additionally, they have added an “Atmospheric Shader” which promises to give the game a unique look and feel of a hand-drawn anime style painting. The new trailer looks stunning, showing off the much-anticipated changes in artwork and gameplay.
The story follows Alphen, an iron-masked individual from the planet Dahna. Having been enslaved and stripped of natural resources for over 300 years by the nearby planet Rena, Dahna is fighting back against their repression. Along his journey to free his people, Alphen encounters a girl named Shionne who is on the run from her countrymen on Rena. The two will be joined by additional supporting characters in their fight for freedom.
