The Adventures of Elliot: How to Light Torches

You’ll gain a lot of different weapons and abilities while journeying through The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, including magical abilities for your companion, Faie, to use. One of these will allow you to light torches you’ve come across during your adventure — though you’ll need to make a bit of progress in the campaign to gain access to this.

Luckily, obtaining Ignite is required for story progression, so you can’t miss it. That being said, if you’ve come across some torches before making the necessary progress, you may be wondering when you’ll be able to get this useful ability. Don’t fret — you’ll only need to play for around 3-4 hours before you’ll have the option to start setting things ablaze. Let’s get into it.

How to light torches in The Adventures of Elliot

To light torches in The Adventures of Elliot, you’ll first need to make a bit of progress in the campaign (maybe 3 or 4 hours), so be prepared for minor spoilers ahead.

While following the main story during the Age of Reconstruction, head to the Southern Caves - Marshlands Exit on the western side of the map. As mentioned above, this will be a requirement for further story progression, so you won’t be able to miss it.

When you exit the other end of the first section of this cave system, you’ll be near a large shrine. This shrine looks very similar to Shrines of Life, which you’ve likely already encountered multiple times. However, inside this shrine awaits a new ability known as Ignite, which allows Faie to light herself ablaze for a variety of purposes, including damaging enemies, unfreezing Elliot if he’s encased in ice, setting off bombs, and (naturally) lighting torches.

To obtain the new ability, you’ll need to complete a quick trial that shows off these various ways to use Ignite. When you’ve wrapped that up, you’ll be able to leave the shrine with Ignite as part of your arsenal, which will allow you to light the torch inside the nearby cave and continue the main campaign.

Of course, make sure you backtrack to any areas you may have previously encountered these torches. Shortcuts and secrets await for those willing to seek them out!
