The Boys is a superhero TV series adapted from the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. As we wrote earlier in the year, the show is a refreshing spin on the superhero genre, with a grim portrayal of America that skews to a more mature audience. The Boys preceded the new Watchmen series on HBO, but it shares many of the same dystopian themes and grapples with the corruption surrounding abuse of superpowers.
It’s also just a good show. Comedy, action, and a truckload of personality spiral out of control in The Boys. If you haven’t watched it yet, we highly recommend it. Amazon renewed the series for a second season before the premiere date.
And the next chapter of the story is finished! Karl Urban shared some good news from the set yesterday, confirming that production had wrapped for the second season. He even teased a premiere date for mid-2020.
Needless to say, we’re excited.
