The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was just announced at the Nintendo Direct and while it borrows from the art style of the 2019 title - Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, this is the first time in a very long while that players will actually get to play as Zelda in her own game.
In a role reversal, Zelda is now tasked with saving the island from mysterious corruptions that are popping up and causing problems for the locals. All of this while also making efforts to rescue Link after defeating Ganondorf.
While you were able to play as Zelda in Smash games, Crypt of the Necrodancer, and the Hyrule Warrior games, we haven’t seen Zelda as a protagonist since Zelda’s on the CD-I in 1996 and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon for the CD-I in 1993, but a lot of the community has a lot of words to say about the latter.
The game is set to release for the Nintendo Switch on September 26th 2024, and I know this has definitely got a lot of fans excited!
