With a week left in the Kickstarter campaign for Sea of Stars, the turn-based RPG is looking pretty with over half a million in funding and over 13,000 backers.
The upcoming game, inspired by the ‘90s classics, is being developed by Sabotage Studio, a Canadian indie studio known for The Messenger, which was an award-winning adventure that released in 2018.
Sea of Stars will be a prequel to the story told in The Messenger, and it follows the journey of two Children of the Solstice. These mages wield Eclipse Magic and fight against the evil creations of The Fleshmancer.
Sabotage Studio is looking to update all of the beauty in classic roleplaying games with modern touches that make it an exciting experience for gamers today. But don’t worry. This retro-inspired RPG will have truly classic music, with Chrono Trigger composer Yasunori Mitsuda writing music for Sea of Stars.
Check out the Kickstarter campaign if you are interested in backing the game before the funding period ends, and read up on Sabotage Studio for more on how this indie developer is re-imagining classic RPGs.
