This year is going to be a behemoth for Brawlhalla fans and fighting game competitors. With Ubisoft’s announcement of the largest prize pool in a fighting game tournament ever. Brawlhalla Esports Year Seven is offering players multiple series of events to compete for their share of a total of $1,320,000 prize pool. Season Championships will include players from all over the world to fight in 1v1 and 2v2 matches in Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn.
Seasonal Championships begin with Winter on January 28th and finish on February 6th. This event is just around the corner so if you were interested, now is the time to sign up. Players who are interested in registering can check out the tournament site. In addition to the record-breaking prize pool, this year is also going to have plenty of pro-player invitationals starting with OMEN Oasis Online Championship. The top players in the Power Rankings from North America and Europe will duke it out in February with a Mid-Season invitational following in June.
Brawlhalla Esports Year Seven will finish off with the annual Brawlhalla World Championship, also referred to as BCX, in November. BCX will have an open sign-up for all players, regardless of their ranking, giving everyone a fighting chance for that sweet prize pool of $500,000.
This news is making huge waves in the competitive fighting scene, specifically among Super Smash Bros. players. Many are disappointed that Super Smash Bros. tournaments typically garner a fraction of this total prize pool but gather a much larger viewership. Only time will tell if any Melee tournaments will dethrone Brawlhalla’s impressive offerings.
Brawlhalla is a free-to-play cross-platform fighting game available on Xbox One, Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
