VALKYRIA CHRONICLES Is Heading for the Nintendo Switch in Japan

Sega will be bringing the first Valkyria Chronicles to the Nintendo Switch. The publisher announced the news during last week’s SEGA FES event in Japan, and confirmed the announcement via a post on Twitter. Valkyria Chronicles will be launched for the Switch in Japan sometime this fall on the eShop and will contain all available DLC, similar to the remastered version for the PlayStation 4.

Currently, Sega did not reveal any information on whether the game will also be coming to the Switch outside of Japan. Valkyria Chronicles was originally released for the PlayStation 3 back in 2008 and a PC version followed in 2014. A remastered version of the game was released for the PlayStation 4 back in 2016.

Furthermore, Sega also confirmed during the event that the upcoming Switch version of Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be delayed in Japan. The game was originally slated for a release this summer, but instead, it will be moved sometime this fall. Players who will purchase Valkyria Chronicles 4 on the Switch, will earn a “Reduced Price Purchase Coupon Download Code” when they purchase the first Valkyria Chronicles on the Switch. If you want to check out how the the fourth entry in the franchise would look like on the Switch, Nintendo Everything was able to catch the first glimpse of Valkyria Chronicles 4 running on the Switch.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 is currently out in Japan for the PS4. A western release of the game is slated for release sometime this year.
