A game type that has always had an appeal to a variety of gamers is the concept of vehicle-based multiplayer combat. Starting in the early days with Twisted Metal, we have seen a series of titles attempt to bring a new twist into the realm of vehicular fighting. KEO is the next title to take on this genre as developer RedCatPig Studios and Digital Matters Publishing bring their game to Steam Early Access on December 9th.
Players can pick the vehicle and loadout that suits their playstyle, customizing it with an explosive arsenal of weaponry before starting their engines and racing into the battlefield, fighting for supremacy in a number of game modes. They have already held a giveaway and a number of beta tests leading up to this launch, so there is hope that there will be a fairly good-sized player base and only a handful of issues to drive through. But that’s part of early access - a chance to provide feedback to improve the game before it is fully released.
As someone who has been fighting on wheels since the original PlayStation and N64 titles, I am pretty excited to give KEO a shot! The game’s full release is planned for sometime in 2022, so even if you want to wait for that, it won’t be too long after this Early Access release.
