A teaser trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II already leaked earlier this week ahead of its intended release during the Star Wars Celebration on April 15, 2017. So, Before anything else, here's the official version of the trailer:
Today's officially released full-length trailer is actually different from what we saw earlier this week and it adds a few major details not given in the leaked version, which by now has been re-labeled as a reveal teaser:
The leaked teaser trailer had already teased multiplayer battles across all eras and from it we also learned that, unlike the first game, Battlefront II will have a single player campaign that will follow the path of "The untold soldier's story". Additionally, it revealed that pre-ordering the game will give players access to heroes from the upcoming film, The Last Jedi.
Similarly, a tweet from January by the EA Star Wars team had already promised a single player campaign, more characters, more heroes, and more locations than the first game. So far, it looks like they're making good on that promise.
Aside from being longer, edited differently, and from adding footage not previously seen, the official trailer also adds details regarding the campaign mode. Although we had previously seen the face of the main character, what we didn't know is that the single player campaign has a cool twist, and the story will actually be unraveled over the course of thirty years from the perspective of an imperial soldier determined to defend the galaxy from rebel scum in the name of the Empire after witnessing the destruction of the Death Star at the battle of Endor.
Star Wars: Battlefront II will become available on PS4, Xbox, and PC on November 17, 2017.
What do you think? Will the content teased in this trailer be enough to make you give EA's Battlefront II a chance and forgive the content deficiency transgressions of the previous game?
