With the first episode of Fallout Season 2 out now, fans can dig into the post-apocalyptic mayhem once again. The new location New Vegas and new characters brings the video game series to life in a whole new way.
One such character’s presence, both in-person and otherwise, is used heavily during the episode: one Robert House, played by actor Justin Theroux. Fans of the games will be very familiar with the gentleman, but those who aren’t may be confused. Luckily, we have a guide to get you in the know on all things House.
Possible spoilers for Fallout Season 2 and definite spoilers for Fallout: New Vegas below.
Is Robert House in the Fallout games?
Robert House, also known as Mr. House, plays a huge role in the narrative of Fallout, specifically Fallout: New Vegas. As the CEO and owner of RobCo, the enigmatic salesman was a big figure before the bombings. He worked with VaultTec and other companies from across the United States on different deals. He was also a technical genius, as well as a successful businessman based in Las Vegas.
When the bombs detonated, in the games (and seemingly in the show from the looks of the trailers), House survives the blast. However, it’s because he transferred his consciousness into his computer at the Lucky 38. From his technical high-tower, he became the ‘ruler’ of New Vegas, bringing all the tribes together.
It’s still unknown what House’s role will be in the show, although the first episode does give some hints. For one, it seems he’s behind an implanted shock collar that can manipulate wearers into doing his bidding. Either way, it’s clear Robert House will be a present figure in the remainder of the season.
Fallout Season 2 is available to stream on Prime Video. New episodes air every Thursday, ending with the season finale on February 4th, 2026.
