Will There Be More Gaming-Themed Houses At Halloween Horror Nights?

Last year, Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights brought The Last of Us to life in a Haunted House. Since it followed almost immediately after the release of the show on Max, I assumed it would be based on the show. However, they made it clear that it was based on the game and even had the voice actors record new lines specifically for the house.

Now in 2024, we're quickly approaching the Halloween Horror Nights season, and even sooner, the announcement season. For those unfamiliar, the announcement season is when Universal starts teasing and revealing the haunted houses we can look forward to that year. So far, they have officially revealed two mazes, A Quiet Place, and Dead Exposure: Death Valley, an original house.

The big question now is whether there will be more for gamers to look forward to at Halloween Horror Nights 2024. Given the success of Five Nights at Freddy’s in theaters, despite a day-one streaming release, it would be surprising if Universal didn't consider it as a draw for horror fans. However, I think FNaF appeals to a younger audience that HHN might not be targeting. Beyond FNaF, Universal currently doesn't have strong ties to gaming, though this could change with the release of Blumhouse games, especially since Blumhouse often has a haunted house at HHN each year.

So, is it possible we'll see a FNaF house at HHN this year? It's possible, but I don't think it's very likely, particularly since fans have been asking for more original houses. Only two houses have been announced so far, and Universal has done up to eight at Hollywood and ten at Orlando, so there's still a chance! Tickets are on sale now if you’re looking to find out for yourself!
