Following the successful launch of their online medieval combat game Chivalry II, developers Torn Banner Studios pledge to “double the size of the game in terms of scope and content.” Following through on this promise, they released numerous and significant content updates for its growing community, introducing mounted combat and cavalry charges, an all-new faction, new maps, game modes, weapons, quality of life updates, a console server browser, and more with support from publishers Tripwire Interactive and Deep Silver.
Now they are releasing their most substantial updates yet, with a wide array of new content and features to discover and explore. This new update is simply called Chivalry II: Winter War. With this update, they are introducing the Campaign Pass to players for the first time. Earn experience points during the Winter War Campaign Pass and unlock free in-game rewards, such as currency and new armory items. Players may also choose to upgrade and unlock premium rewards. Full details on the campaign pass can be found here.
Along with the campaign pass introduction, they bring a few new aspects to the game, such as:
New Team Objective Map: The Assault on Thayic Stronghold - Set in a brand-new biome full of chilling snow and ice, the Agathians find themselves cornered by the Masons in their northern stronghold. The Masons are tasked with laying siege upon the Thayic Stronghold to kill the self-proclaimed Agathian Knights’ leader, King Argon II.
New VIP: King Argon II - If the Agatha Knights are not able to prevent the Masons from capturing the courtyard, the top player will be crowned king and must lead their team to victory as King Argon II! As King Argon II, VIP players must take charge and raise the banners to reclaim lost ground while Agatha Knights join forces to protect the VIP at all costs.
New Weapon: Quarterstaff
Merry Chivmas Winter Event
In addition, players can look forward to the return of Chivalry 2’s Merry Chivmas Winter Event, featuring holiday-themed maps, weaponized presents, and more until Jan. 5.
Chivalry II and the new Winter War update are available now on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
