Unfortunately, E3 is not happening this year due to the current COVID-19 pandemic that is plaguing countries around the world. Although this does definitely suck, Xbox is doing what they can to try and replicate the beloved convention with their Summer Game Fest Demo Event happening later this month.
Between July 21 and July 27, Xbox owners will have the opportunity to play over 60 demos of brand new, upcoming Xbox releases. The super cool thing about this event is that the demos being featured aren’t your “standard” game demos that release just before the launch of an upcoming title that is either nearly, or 100% completed. Some demos that will be featured during the event won’t be playable in their full form for quite some time, some will be very early in development, whereas some might be further along.
Either way, these demos will only be available for one week, so be sure to take advantage of the time that you are given. Some titles that you might be able to get hands-on with include, Cris Tales, Destroy All Humans!, Haven, Hellpoint, and many, many more!
This definitely doesn’t match up to the E3 experience, but it’s close enough. I am personally very excited to get some early playtime with these upcoming titles, and can’t wait to see them in their full form either later this year or sometime in the next.
