Aiming to be more inclusive to a larger player-base audience, Frictional Games has released an Adventure Mode for their latest horror game, Amnesia: Rebirth. This new mode will allow players to experience all of the puzzles, exploration, and lore of the game without having to wander through the dark or worry about enemies around every corner. While this isn’t something I would personally enjoy, I do see many players finding preference in a mode like this.
To go over the full changes this mode will provide, they released a dev diary to explain the mode. While you can watch it below, it can be quickly summarized. Given that you know all about the gameplay, as it was described in my review, then the changes are as follows:
No more sanity loss when in darkness, as it has been completely removed
Removes all life-threatening encounters with monsters (they only attack if you attack first)
New puzzles added to increase the experience
All-in-all, this is a pretty good way to expand your audience and increase your game’s value. Which mode do you plan to experience Amnesia: Rebirth with: Standard or Adventure?
