Good news to all Battlefield 1 fans, as DICE, the developer of the game recently announced that the Prise de Tahure, one of Battlefield 1’s map that was previously exclusive to Premium Pass owners or those with the They Shall Not Pass DLC, will be free for everyone. The map will bring players an intense, night-time urban environment that will be free for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC users starting January 16.
DICE also announced a trial for the Gallipoli map from the Turning Tides DLC that will be available from January 16 until January 22. Check out the trailer for the DLC above. The trial will give players a glimpse of some of the contents from the They Shall Not Pass and In The Name of the Tsar expansions. The trial will also give players access to some new content coming in for the second half of Turning Tides, which launches this month.
The first half of the Turning Tides expansion was already released during the end of last year, however, the remaining contents for the DLC, which will include the Zeebrugge and Heligoland Bight maps, the British Royal Marines faction, and a C-Class Airship vehicle will be released this January. Concerning future expansions, publisher EA and developer DICE have confirmed that details on Apocalypse, the upcoming fourth Battlefield 1 expansion, will be announced soon.
Turning Tides is the third DLC released for Battlefield 1 to date, and Apocalypse will follow early this year. DICE teases fans that the upcoming Apocalypse expansion will include “the most infamous battles of WWI,” and will introduce the “brutal tools and unique weapons born out of desperation and deadlock.”
