SOEDESCO, the Netherlands-stationed indie publisher that brought you Monster Crown, Adam's Venture, Xenon Racer, and more, has teamed up with independent Australia-based developer Pixel Heart Studio. Together, they will bring forth Airoheart: a top-down, story-based pixel adventure that features old-school, real-time combat as you delve into the emotional quest to save Engard.
Development for Airoheart began in 2018 and was later successfully funded double their campaign goal on Kickstarter in 2020. Pixel Heart Studio founder & solo developer Samuel Nort is proud to have Airoheart as their debut title and is thrilled about the partnership, stating, “Knowing so many great games to come from SOEDESCO in the past, it was surreal to hear from them. I'm feeling blessed to have partnered up and to work with their lovely team behind the scenes."
Airoheart is a passion project that implements both the style and charm of the early classics from the Legend of Zelda series, with the deep & emotional storytelling of the Final Fantasy series, passionately developed on Unreal Engine 4. Players will encounter unique and fascinating characters as they conquer dungeons and bosses, each with their own theme and ever-increasing difficulty, solve puzzles, and master platforming sequences all in a lovingly crafted world.
The story takes place in Engard, a diverse continent on the cusp of war and factional strife. The hero gets to embark on a quest encumbered with betrayal, mystery, and redemption to save Engard while encountering strange and fascinating characters. The unique and interweaving stories feature fully choreographed and animated scenes, and the music is designed to drive your emotions.
Airoheart is aiming to release on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch, but there is no current release date. Though, when the time comes, will you save Engard from this dark and sinister plot?
