Ubisoft has announced that the webcomic created by Xu Xianzhe called Assassin’s Creed Dynasty has reached one billion views in China across all of its distributed platforms! Since its launch on October 29, 2021, the comic has stayed in the Top 10 of the Wuxia genre on Tencent Animation & Comics. This record alone is impressive, but on top of that, it is Ubisoft’s first Chinese original comic, featuring an all-new character and story set during the 8th century in China.
In the comic, it details the incredible journey of Li E, a shady Assassin trained by the Hidden Ones on the Silk Road. As the Tang dynasty starts to crumble, Li E will need to team up with Tang loyalists to turn the tide and save the dynasty and China from the greatest scheme the Middle Kingdom has ever faced.
The Assassin’s Creed Dynasty webcomic series is in production to be English-translated and Volume 1 is already available. It is set to be a five-volume series with the full release planned throughout 2022. Following this release, Volume 2 will be available on April 19, 2022, and Volume 3 will be available on June 14, 2022. You can check out the TokyoPop and Ubisoft websites for details on this.
