After a year of waiting ever since the release of the Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing fans can now rejoice as Nintendo confirmed that a new installment on the franchise is heading to the Nintendo Switch in 2019.

The announcement was made yesterday during the latest Nintendo Direct presentation that revealed a plethora of upcoming titles for both the Switch and 3DS. The presentation also revealed, or rather reiterated, a few essential features of Nintendo Switch Online, which is slated to release next week, September 18, 2018. The reveal of Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch began with a fun introduction video from none other than Isabelle herself. It was then revealed that Isabelle herself will be joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a fighter, with Tom Nook giving full support of Isabelle’s new calling.

As for the game itself, the Direct presentation did not reveal anything, besides that, it is now a game in development, and will release to the Switch sometime in 2019.
