Looking to bring back the classic days of slaying a zombie horde with your friends is the original team that brought us Left 4 Dead. With the beta’s past and tons of feedback sent in, Turtle Rock Studios is ready to launch Back 4 Blood and Warner Bros Games is helping bring it to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 12th. Of course, before release, there needs to be a final exciting push and so they have released the official launch trailer!
To fill in any gaps you may have missed through this game’s development process, Back 4 Blood is a series revival as the team behind the popular zombie horde series Left 4 Dead brings us back into a world full of hyper undead enemies - this time, with a twist. They held a few beta sessions that had mostly mixed feedback from the overall player’s first impressions and have hopefully improved the game further based on the negative feedback.
The story takes place after a catastrophic outbreak where most of humanity has either been killed or infected by the parasitic Devil Worm. Hardened by unspeakable events and emboldened to fight for the last of humanity, a group of apocalypse veterans called The Cleaners have rallied to take on the infected horrors known as the Ridden and reclaim the world.
While it may be a short video, the launch trailer above does show off a bit of both the cooperative campaign and the competitive PvP swarm modes that will be available in the game. Personally, I am more excited to just enjoy an intense campaign with some friends, but it is good to have options. Are you excited for Back 4 Blood’s launch next week?
