Larian Studios confirmed in a blog post that they plan on bringing modding to an official capacity, but while they have not specified a release date for the feature, have confirmed that there will be closed testing for it in July.
Baldurs Gate 3 was a massive game that went viral in 2023, and while fans are currently able to mod the game through third-party apps, Larian Studios plans on introducing the feature at an official capacity, similar to The Witcher 3.
The developers did not share a release date for the full feature, but for a game like Baldurs Gate 3 to get mod support from the developers is a great deal as it can signigicantly ease the integration with the game too.
The feature will also come on consoles, but only curated mods will be sent to those systems.
This is still something fans will want to keep an eye on through the course of the year, particularly if they are looking for a reason to do a fresh playthrough of the game.
