Rash, Zitz and Pimple are back in action for their latest adventure in the Xbox exclusive, Battletoads. We’d gotten a gameplay trailer at last year’s E3 conference, but we haven’t heard much since then. Today we finally have a launch date, as well as a new trailer for the gameplay and story. Luckily, fans don’t have to wait long for the release as it comes out on August 20th. You’ll be able to play it on Xbox One and PC, but the best part is that the game will be added to the Game Pass library of titles upon launch.
The game really looks to have a big emphasis on being fun, shown by its visuals and gameplay. Battletoads’ art style is done to look like a hand-drawn Saturday morning cartoon and will feature hilarious cutscenes and dialogue. Going from what I’ve seen from the game, they really nail the vibe they’re going for, and the colors they incorporate really pop. It’ll also feature 3 player drop in and out couch co-op, with varying gameplay sequences that will appeal to all kinds of players. Don’t worry as the signature Battletoads combat will be front and center here.
I’m extremely excited to let this game pull me into its world next month. After all of these years, Battletoads will finally be in stock!
