The countdown to the release of Ubisoft’s alien-based action-FPS game Rainbow Six Extraction has begun! To prepare their expected players for the game’s release on January 20, 2022, they have started sharing some deep dive videos. Now that they have put out information on gameplay, settings, and offers, let’s recap everything that this game will have going for it.
Starting off with the benefits, they have lowered the price, added a Buddy Pass system, and included bonus content for Rainbow Six Siege players. With the Buddy Pass, anybody with the game can invite two of their friends to join their squad and play the game for free! This option will be available to players for up to 14 days. For those who pre-order, they will get the Orbital Decay bundle, but those that also play Siege will get the United Front bundle as well. Regardless if you pre-order or buy the game after it releases, all post-launch content will be free for all players.
As for the operators players can choose from, their gear and gadgets can change the way players play the game. Each operator has a unique ability, as Siege players will know, so unlocking new operators to play as can be the step you need to find the operator with the skill that fits a specific playstyle. Each operator has skills that are helpful and effective when used for solo reasoning, but thinking and utilizing skills and gadgets in a way that works with the squad could turn the tides of a game. As players play these various operators, they will level up those specific operators as well, which will in turn unlock better skills and weapons for them as well.
Now, let’s get into some gameplay details. This game will have twelve dynamic maps that are divided into three zones each. In these maps, you can complete thirteen different randomized mission types, and a mixture of enemies, operators, and in-game nuances to complicate things. While the details for the gameplay can be broken down in the video below, there are some key things to keep in mind. The main thing of these is that bringing the correct gadgets and taking the sound you make into account. This means that running down a hallway is a foolish way to trigger an attack, so be sure to scout out the path first. When it comes to difficulty, this will affect everything in the mission, including some of the hazards in the map, but the harder the difficulty the more rewards you will get from extracting at the end of the mission.
