Chained Echoes is a fantasy-steampunk JRPG created by indie developer Matthias Linda and published by Deck13 Spotlight. Linda spent 7 years creating this magnum opus, Chained Echoes is a traditional, all-encompassing JRPG inspired by the classics of the SNES and PSX era. The newly released trailer reveals some of the combat system, classic mecha fights, and the stunning pixel visuals that Linda has created.
Chained Echoes is very much influenced by the classical JRPG style; that is, a beautiful yet strange mash-up of completely different genres. Chained Echoes is a medieval fantasy with modern steampunk added on so get ready for sword fights and mech battles! Players will find themselves on the continent of Valandis, finally at peace after centuries of war. But peace is fragile, conflicts lasting for centuries just won’t disappear, and a new war could break loose at any time. Linda has created an incredible, carefully crafted world, filled with otherworldly creatures and multiple nations of human and humanoid races, all brimming with individual lore and culture to dig into. In the wild and world map, Valandis' varied environments are a true paradise for adventurers, each with their own unique look and special challenges, menacing bosses, and exciting secrets!
Chained Echoes is packed full of magic, mechs, swords, boss fights, turn-based combat, a complex story, and roughly 40 hours of content. The game’s overdrive-combat system ensures fights are fast-paced while still offering massive tactical depth. For all of you extra uber fans out there who absolutely can’t wait till you get your hands on Chained Echoes or for anyone who absolutely loves it once it comes out, Chained Echoes, will also receive a physical release in summer 2023 and is now available for pre-order. Exclusively distributed by First Press Games, it will receive premium physical editions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation4, and PC DVD, with different variants in terms of included goodies and merch.
