Possibly one of the most anticipated games to be launching this year is Funcom’s april fools joke turned reality title Conan Chop Chop. Set up to be a solo or multiplayer action adventure with a rougelike dungeon crawler action style, this game is the perfect blend of brutal and adorable. While it may not seem like it at first glance, this title is set up to be quite an entertaining game to play alone or with friends.
Originally it was set up to launch tomorrow, September 3rd, but the developers have announced that the game will now be delayed until Q1 2020. It will still be on Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, but the reason for this delay is actually on the fans request as they are determined to launch the game with the main request they got from fans: online multiplayer.
This is a brilliant move on the developers part as launching a game without all of the aspects it can, and frankly should, feature with plans to add them later has been known to go over poorly with fans. As any developer should, this team is following the forever true quote from the video game master, Mr. Miyamoto himself, “A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever.” We may have to wait a bit longer before we can play this game, but at least we know that they are ensuring it is launched the right way.
If you haven’t seen much on Conan Chop Chop yet and this is the first you are hearing about it, then the good news is that your wait time won’t be nearly as long as those who have been following it since April 1st. There is no new trailer for this announcement however, so check out the announcement trailer and hop on the hype train for this weirdly-good looking Conan game.
