Back in 2003, Infinity Ward co-founder Chance Glasco and his team released Call of Duty - a game that would turn into one of the most beloved first-person shooter series. Now, Glasco has a new team known as Good Dog Studios and they are getting ready to head over to Brazil’s International Games (BIG) Festival to unveil the world premiere of their upcoming game Martial Arts Tycoon: Brazil.
This game blends tycoon, simulation, and RPG elements, offering players a unique opportunity to manage a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu gym in the heart of Rio’s lively favelas and surrounding communities. Players will step into the shoes of Lucas, who inherits his Uncle Renato's gym and guides him with his pet capybara, Raphael. As they navigate the challenges faced by the favela community, including climate and health issues, players will train fighters for competitions, expand their gym, and engage with diverse NPCs, each with unique stories and motivations for joining the gym.
The game's rich cultural setting, combined with real-life issues faced by Brazilian communities, sets Martial Arts Tycoon: Brazil apart from other tycoon games on the market. Players will not only manage their gym but also make strategic decisions to improve their local community, address environmental concerns, and make a tangible impact on the game world.
"We're thrilled to showcase Martial Arts Tycoon: Brazil at BIG 2023," said Chance Glasco. "It was a natural fit for us to uncover the game for the first time in Brazil since this is where the game takes place and is inspired by.”
Martial Arts Tycoon: Brazil is planned to release in 2024 on PC and console. We’ll have to wait for the BIG Festival to see the game's official reveal where we can hopefully see the game in action.
