Deep Silver Dambuster Studios has just released the newest gameplay trailer for one of the oldest sequels. Dead Island 2 has been in development for nearly a decade and will finally be in gamers' hands this Spring. The latest gameplay trailer shows off weapons we can expect to see in the streets of Los Angeles and some of the various environments we can expect to slice up the undead. The melee combat is showcased in the trailer and includes some impressive shots of up-close zombie carnage. There are animations detailing decayed jaws and limbs falling off after punching and slicing through the undead. The dismemberment system is being advertised as the most advanced in any game. The trailer also continues to showcase the tongue-in-cheek humor the game is offering with its story and NPCs. Clearly, Dead Island 2 is not going for a serious survival take, and it's a smart move.
Dead Island 2 will offer three-player co-op and provide a robust RPG experience. The game is promising ultimate replayability with the choice of 6 characters, all with their own unique skills and the ability to fully customize their skills as you progress through the game. Dead Island 2 is looking to be a great time in paradise and is coming very soon.
Dead Island 2 launches on April 28, 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via EGS.
