The challenging Metroidvania title from developers White Rabbit has been getting a lot of new content and platform ports since it first launched in 2018 on PC via Steam and PlayStation 4. Just last year, their publisher Serenity Forge helped bring the updated version of the game, called Death’s Gambit: Afterlife, to the Nintendo Switch, which also received positive reviews and now has the collector’s edition available for purchase. Now the teams are back with the news that the game will be coming to the Xbox platforms and getting a new DLC!
The new DLC is called Ashes of Vados and it introduces a brand-new boss encounter with a drastically different heroic boss variant that will conclude the final story. It will test your mettle with the ultimate platforming challenge level and a new Arena with both boss rush and horde mode. The DLC will also spice up new runs of the game with alternative game modifiers that completely flip the experience on its head, with modes like randomized items, heroic forced, and hardcore mode. All of these new challenges come with their own set of rewards.
The Death’s Gambit DLC, Ashes of Vados, is set to release on PC via Steam on Feb. 10 for $7.99 USD. Then it will come to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch this Spring, alongside the release of the full game and DLC on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Are you ready to get back into the challenge?
