It's been over a year since we've heard any news concerning Dead Island 2. In fact, the only thing we've heard about Dead Island in the past year was a 16 bit game that was similar to the game in name alone. If you've been waiting for the sequel to the zombie franchise, Deep Silver confirms the game is still in development.
"Dead Island 2 is in development at Sumo Digital, and we are excited by the progress the team are making with Deep Silver's most successful IP. When we are ready to share more information, we will."
The game was originally slated for release in Spring of 2015, and judging from that statement, it doesn't appear as though we'll be seeing anything anytime soon. That's upsetting as the zombie franchise showed a lot of promise when the genre was at its peak, and a sequel would've been another chance to improve upon that formula further. I'll try to stay positive, but something tells me Dead Island has spent too much time away to come back with the fire the first game delivered. What're your thoughts?
