There is so much possibility in the much-awaited Disco Elysium. It’s an open-world RPG where you play as a detective. Except the whole city is yours to rule or ruin. The developer ZA/UM promises that you can “interrogate unforgettable characters, crack murders or take bribes. Become a hero or an absolute disaster of a human being.”
If you think you’ve played weird and unforgettable games, then maybe you’re not getting the point. Disco Elysium implements a mechanic called the Thought Cabinet, which controls the elements of the perk system, the reputation system, and even story elements.
Don’t understand what I’m saying? I’m not sure I do either, but check out the explanation below to get a better sense of things.
Disco Elysium is going to be a crazy ride. Whether or not you’ll be a good detective is up to you, but I’m sure that the role-playing game will be quite unforgettable. This looks like the video game that will require multiple playthroughs before you can even conceptualize what’s going on, much less capture the depth of the experience.
If you’re interested, the game will release on October 15th, so there’s no time to waste. Starting picking out your best detective outfit.
What is your response to the craziness that is Disco Elysium?
